The original planners of our ultimate routes were our parents — who gave us the gift of exploring Southern Africa through camping, hiking, and countless road trips. From a young age, we were immersed in nature, and a deep respect for the outdoors was quietly and powerfully instilled — something we remain incredibly grateful for.
After celebrating our wedding in December 2017, we took a leap: a year of travel and work abroad. That time in Asia allowed us two rare luxuries — perspective and time for planning. Around many proverbial campfires, we found ourselves deep in conversation, dreaming, and filling notebooks with ideas that would eventually become Ultimate Routes.
Born from a love for overlanding, 4×4 travel, camping, birding, hiking, and the spirit of Africa, Ultimate Routes is a marriage of our passions and professional skills in trip planning, business, and marketing. By the time we turned 30, we had already logged several overlanding adventures of our own — experiences that shaped how we now design journeys for others.
