Mabuasehube

A corner of Botswana’s untamed wilderness

A place where the wild whispers louder than any roar. Whether or not you spot a big cat, this remote corner of the southern Kalahari guarantees a raw, unfiltered wilderness experience. With just a handful of campsites scattered across six pans, it’s a sanctuary of solitude where the beauty of the landscape and its resilient wildlife takes center stage. For the truly adventurous, the Matopi Trail links Mabuasehube to the Kgalagadi, while the Mosomane Trail beckons those craving deeper, untamed exploration.

Our Expert Opinion

A recent Kalahari journey took us deep into the wild heart of Mabuasehube. Navigating thick Kalahari sand to reach the park’s entrance put our 4x4 skills to the test, but once inside, we were instantly embraced by the tranquil stillness of the bush.

Though lions and leopards remained elusive - a gentle reminder of nature’s unpredictability, especially following the rains - we spotted over 75 bird species and savoured the subtle wonders that make this place so special. Each morning began with coffee at sunrise, and every evening closed with breathtaking sunsets over the pans - moments that simply must be witnessed firsthand.

Mabuasehube gifted us a truly unforgettable experience of raw beauty, calm, and camaraderie among fellow travelers who share a profound love for the wilderness. I wholeheartedly recommend adding this hidden gem to your broader Botswana itinerary.
